Knowing the Florida road test requirements ahead of time means no surprises on test day. Here is what you need to bring, what your vehicle needs, and what the examiner checks.
Before you can take the road test
Drivers under 18 must hold a learner permit for at least 12 months (or until they turn 18) and complete 50 hours of supervised driving, including 10 at night, before the road test.
What to bring
- Your valid learner permit
- A vehicle with valid registration and proof of insurance
- Any documents your appointment confirmation lists
Vehicle requirements
The car you test in must be safe and legal: valid registration and insurance, plus working brakes, lights, turn signals, horn, and seatbelts. If you do not have a suitable car, ask about using ours.
What the examiner checks
